  • Visa, GoTyme Bank, and McDonald’s brought Filipino football fans together to celebrate the excitement, passion, and community of the world’s most beautiful game at the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Final watch parties for Visa cardholders

Visa (NYSE: V), the official Payment Technology Partner of FIFA, together with GoTyme Bank and McDonald's Philippines, brought Filipino football fans together to celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Final through exclusive watch party experiences. Combining Visa's global FIFA sponsorship platform, GoTyme Bank's digital-first banking experience, and McDonald's role as a gathering place for fans, the collaboration transformed matchday into a shared celebration of football, community, and unforgettable moments.

Held at participating McDonald’s stores in McKinley West and BGC Forum in Taguig City as well as Dian in Makati City, the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Final watch parties brought Filipino football enthusiasts closer to the energy of one of the world’s biggest cultural moments. Drawing on fans’ deep emotional connection to the sport, the watch parties turned matchday into celebrations full of drama, excitement, and engagement.

Launched in July, this unique collaboration gave Visa cardholders access to McDonald’s FIFA World Cup 2026™ Final Watch Party tickets, which included 6-piece Chicken McNuggets® with Big Mac® Sauce, regular fries, an A&W® drink, and a limited-edition FIFA World Cup 2026TM Collectible Cup. The collectible cups featured football legends David Beckham, Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Thierry Henry, Song Heung-min, Lamine Yamal, and McDonald’s very own Grimace, creating memories that last beyond matchdays with unique keepsakes that celebrate fans’ passion for the sport.

As a global sporting platform, FIFA helps translate passion for football into real economic uplift, with Visa data1 showing broad impact of football fandom on consumer spend behaviors across host cities. In Los Angeles, overall Visa cardholder spend rose 16.5% before the opening match, while in Toronto, entertainment spend on citywide fan experiences increased 73.6% ahead of kickoff. In Mexico City, 64% of in-stadium purchases by Visa cardholders were in retail, showing how payments helped shape fan experiences throughout the tournament.

“Football has an incredible ability to unite communities, captivating fans across borders and cultures. Visa helps enable these celebrations of passion for football through secure and seamless digital payments. Our dynamic partnership with GoTyme Bank and McDonald’s underscores how payments help unlock meaningful experiences for Filipino football fans and ignite their passion even more,” said Nico Leviste, Head of Marketing for Visa Philippines.

“At GoTyme Bank, we believe banking should help customers get closer to the things they love. Through our partnership with Visa and McDonald's, we transformed everyday payments into a shared football experience. Seeing the energy, excitement, and camaraderie at the watch parties reinforced the power of football to connect people and create lasting memories,” added Nate Clarke, Chief Executive Officer of GoTyme Bank

“McDonald's has always been a place where friends and families come together over good food and shared moments. As an official FIFA World Cup 2026™ partner, McDonald’s makes matchday magic happen with families, friends, and fans coming together to support and celebrate the sport in our stores. Whether on the pitch, in the stands, or from their homes, we have always been a part of matchday rituals, and it was exciting to elevate how Filipino fans experience football through our partnership with Visa and GoTyme Bank,” said Ashley Santillan-Delgado, Marketing Director, McDonald’s Philippines.

Throughout the evening, fans cheered on their teams, shared the excitement of the match, and transformed the participating McDonald’s locations into vibrant football hubs. The event showcased the growing enthusiasm for football among Filipinos and underscored how brands can help make global sporting moments more accessible and engaging for local audiences.

The watch parties reinforced Visa’s longstanding partnership with FIFA in collaboration with GoTyme Bank, which has already brought Filipino consumers closer to the tournament through limited-edition FIFA-themed GoTyme Bank Visa Debit Cards and exclusive fan experiences. Together, Visa and GoTyme Bank are transforming everyday payments into opportunities for football enthusiasts to engage with the world’s most celebrated sporting event.
